Where the Journey Begins

We’ve been talking about this for a while, and now it’s finally time to start sharing it properly.

Project Rustico is a long-term plan to renovate a traditional farmhouse in Abruzzo, Italy. Not a quick project and not something we’re rushing. The aim is to take something with real character and bring it back to life properly, using a modern rustic approach with stone, wood and simple, practical design.

At the moment, everything you’ll see is from property viewings. We’re still searching for the right place, with a plan to buy around August or September 2026. Some of these have looked great at first glance, but once you scratch the surface, you realise pretty quickly what works and what doesn’t.

The intention is to do as much of the renovation ourselves as possible. That means learning as we go, getting things wrong along the way, and figuring out what good actually looks like rather than pretending to have all the answers from day one.

This isn’t about creating something perfect. It’s about building something that feels right. Warm, solid, and properly put together.

If you’re interested in Italy renovation, farmhouse renovation, or just the reality of taking on something like this from the UK or from anywhere in the world, feel free to follow along.
